HIFLD Open — Hurricane Evacuation Routes
DHS Homeland Infrastructure Foundation-Level Data (HIFLD)
The only national compilation of designated hurricane evacuation routes — an obvious offline layer for coastal subscribers.
Editor's notes
DANGEROUS IF TRUSTED BLINDLY: the dataset's own metadata says it is over ten years old and never updated since creation. Use as a baseline only; authoritative current routes live with state DOTs (e.g., FDOT, TxDOT open data portals) and are announced per-event. There is no single fresh national evacuation-route dataset — plan per-state sourcing. Also note HIFLD Open has been reorganizing in 2025-2026; some layers migrated to other stewards, so verify the layer's current home before building a pipeline.
