FM 3-05.70 Survival (2002) — Appendix B (Edible Plants) and Appendix C (Poisonous Plants) with color photos

Headquarters, Department of the Army

This is the key redistributable ILLUSTRATED edible/poisonous plant reference: ~100 edible + ~50 poisonous plants with color photographs, habitat/distribution, edible parts, preparation. Commercial reprints of exactly this content are common (e.g., 'The Illustrated Guide to Edible Wild Plants'), confirming reuse is normal practice. Editor's notes

The 2002 edition's cover carries a 'distribution authorized to US Government agencies and their contractors' notice; as a federal work it is still public domain and it is ubiquitously republished commercially, but legal review of that notice is prudent (the 1992 FM 21-76 and 2018 ATP 3-50.21 are unambiguously public-release). Photo quality is dated; plant safety notes are terse — add modern lookalike warnings.
